Rodríguez & Sanzo Whisky Barrel. This is perhaps our bestselling top tier red wine in the shop. Javier Rodríguez likes to experiment always with new wine concepts, and this is his fantastic small-batch project from Toro D.O. 100% Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo) that, instead of using French or American oak, has been aged 18 months in whisky barrels. This not only adds its own aromatic flourishes, but also softens the wine so that the palate is big and full, but very smooth. The nose is black fruits, spices, chocolate, smokiness and a delicate but pleasing note of Scottish whisky in the background. This wine is unique and utterly delicious.
