Description
Red Guerra Vermouth. What a wonderfully powerful and punchy vermouth this is from the Vinos Guerra winery in the Bierzo area. Even though this vermouth is fairly new on the national market from a publicity point of view, it was made in the village of Cacabelos in 1879 by Antonio Guerra and was the first one made by a winery in the province of León. The nose is wonderfully complex and uses about 40 different botanicals and then spends 8-18 months in oak barrels. Coffee, toasted bread, rosemary, liquorice, salted caramel, cinnamon, orange peel and vanilla on the nose. The palate is potent and spiced but also smooth and not too sweet.
