Description

Nisia. One of our favourite Rueda D.O. white wines for the price-to-quality. Bodegas Jorge Ordoñez has created a truly “different” 100% Verdejo white here. First and foremost he is producing wine from vines that are more than 70 years old! This is what we call ‘viñas viejas’ or ‘old vines’. They tend to give more intensity of flavour and smaller yields. 60% of the wine is fermented in French oak and then the wine spends a further 8 months on the lees. The nose is very expressive: grapefruit and stone fruits, honey, toast and brioche. The palate is dry and oaky. Fantastic.
