Laya. Laya is a little firecracker of a wine from Almansa D.O. It is a youthful but punchy blend of Garnacha Tintorera (70%) and Monastrell (30%) that has undergone some malolactic fermentation to add a certain creaminess to what could have been a very strong and tannic red wine. The nose is remarkably complex and spicy with some delightful dark juicy blackberry and plum notes. The palate is fresh and quite heavy with some soft tannins and an almost sweet finish on the tongue.
