Caterina. One of our favourite price-to-quality red wines and also one of our bestselling reds. Caterina is a big, sexy 100% Monastrell from Bodega Santa Catalina down in DO Alicante. 12 months in French and American oak and an alcohol level of 15% have left us with a wine that is delightfully rich and powerful. The nose is dark jammy berries, chocolate, tobacco and coffee. The palate is full bodied and mouth-coating with smooth tannins and a lovely warm kick. For the price this is an astonishing wine from a tiny winery of the Levante.
